Portland Welcomes Warner Pacific as Second College Partner
Portland Leadership Foundation is proud to announce the addition of Warner Pacific College as a partner in the innovative Act Six Urban Service Track.
Warner Pacific is an urban Christ-centered four-year liberal arts college located in the heart of Portland. "I believe Warner Pacific is ideally situated to partner with Act Six to provide Christian higher education that will prepare students to lead and serve in our city and the world. I am excited about this opportunity to encourage students in their personal, spiritual, and intellectual growth as they respond to God's calling for their lives," says Dr. Andrea Cook, Warner Pacific president.
Warner Pacific joins George Fox University to become the second college partner working with Portland Leadership Foundation to identify and equip emerging urban leaders in the Portland metro area. The new partnership will double the number of Act Six scholarships available to Portland students.
The Act Six Urban Service Track builds on the original direct four year Act Six model and provides a unique opportunity for scholars to gain two years of street-level urban service experience with local non-profits in Portland while living at home and earning an associate’s degree at Portland Community College (PCC). Scholars then bring their leadership to the Warner Pacific College campus for two years as they complete their bachelor’s degree.
